Watch Coral Bleaching

In case you haven’t already seen it, this time lapse video from the Weather Channel shows the symbiotic relationship between algae and coral reefs, and how they are being stressed out by climate change. Scientists at the Queensland University of Technology have captured on video the coral bleaching process, as a result of rising sea temperatures. The researchers showed the coral swelling up by 340 percent and expelling algae from its body, in the lab, due to the simulated increased sea temperature.
