Phenometrics Inc., a leader in benchtop photobioreactors, has announce a new distinguished member, Mark R. Edwards PhD, MBA, to its board of directors.

Dr. Edwards, is Professor Emeritus after 39 years at Arizona State University. He advises global companies on strategy for food, energy, and technology, by providing structure, metrics and advanced technologies. He is cofounder of the Sustainable Phosphorus Alliance at ASU and has published over 160 articles and 26 books that focus on business and science disciplines. He also authored a business and a science best seller. He won international “best science” book awards for 6 of his 15 books in the Green Algae Strategy Series, that focus on sustainable and affordable food and energy. Several of his Green Algae Strategy books are used as textbooks by universities in over 20 countries for courses on food, energy, water, natural resources, medicine and sustainability. Dr. Edwards latest book, Ana Feeds our World by 2040 lays out a sustainable path to global food security while addressing resource issues such as climate chaos, soil fertility, water, energy, fertilizer and agricultural chemicals.

“We are excited that Mark Edwards has joined our Board of Directors at Phenometrics. Mark’s vast experience and expertise in the algae industry will play an important role in our company’s future global expansion and product development. We are lucky to have him on our team.” says Jody Burgess, CEO of Phenometrics Inc.

“For years I have relied on Mark’s friendship and valuable advice as well as industry contact introductions, so I am pleased to have him join our board,” added Mimi Cook-Hall, Co-founder, Director of Sales and Marketing, and board member.

“I am excited to join the Phenometrics board, since I have been an advocate their technology since 2011, when the company first introduced the ePBR to the biofuel research community,” said Dr. Edwards. “Today they are poised to expand in the global market with new accessories and products. I look forward to supporting the management team.”
