The AlgaePARC ‪Wageningen University & Research center, in the Netherlands, was started to fill the gap between laboratory research on algae and full-scale algae production. The facility houses a range of fully equipped laboratories, and pilot scale cultivation systems consisting of open raceway ponds, flat panel photobioreactors, horizontal tubular photobioreactors and vertically stacked 3-D tubular photobioreactors. Their mission: “To explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life.”
