ABO hosting Algae 101 ABS pre-event

Dr. John Benemann, CEO, MicroBio Engineering, Inc. will speak at Algae 101 about Cultivating algae for maximum ROI.

The Algae Biomass Organization (ABO) has announced a networking session before the upcoming Algae Biomass Summit, dubbed Algae 101: Commercial Applications for Algae. The pre-session is designed to give attendees an opportunity to meet face-to-face with scientific and commercial leaders that are using algae to revolutionize food, nutrition, water treatment, advanced materials, energy and many other markets.

Algae 101 takes place Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center and will feature presentations by:

  • Matt Carr – Executive Director, Algae Biomass Organization: Markets that are ripe for an algae takeover;
  • John Benemann – CEO, MicroBio Engineering, Inc.: Cultivating algae for maximum ROI;
  • Rebecca White – Vice President, iWi: Algae product development for nutrition and protein;
  • Dave Hazlebeck – CEO, Global Algae Innovations: Exceeding market standards with advanced processing technologies; 
  • Jacques Beaudry-Losique – Chief Business Officer, Algenol Biotech: Cutting-edge cultivation techniques and applications across markets; and
  • Stephen Mayfield – Director, California Center for Algae Biotechnology: Algae as a product platform for advanced materials, therapeutic proteins and biofuels.
